4 Dad Date Days Just in Time to Celebrate!

Father’s Day is on the way, which means it’s time to treat Dad to some of his favorite things! We’ve put together four fun and unique dates with Dad for kiddos (and kiddos at heart) to make celebrating your favorite guy a breeze!

1 - Take in Some Fresh Air!

When’s the last time just you and Dad hit the town for a memorable day out? Now’s your chance to schedule a Dad Date Day and take advantage of the sights and bites in Chattanooga! Start with a leisurely stroll across the Walnut Street Bridge over to the Northshore area. Here you’ll find all sorts of hidden gems, like Basecamp, where you can whet your whistle with a craft beer and get served some great grub (dietary restrictions welcome!) made by fantastic people. If you’re luckily, they’ll have their *locally* famous buffalo cauliflower bites on the rotating menu!

Keep the groove going with an impromptu dance lesson! Just look down! No seriously, you can find the steps right on the ground; following the gilded footsteps is SO easy - you’ll be a pro in no time! And don’t get us started on the “awwwws” you’re bound to get from the on-looking crowd, you’re practically dancing with the stars after all!

When you’re all danced out, stop in at Clumpies Ice Cream Co. for a cool treat (we’re partial to the Banana Puddin’!) and head down to Coolidge Park for a healthy dose of people watching and a gorgeous sunset!

2 - Get Your Crawl On!

Take Dad on a bar crawl for a sampling of a variety of locally-crafted beers, ciders, and ales! Start at BrewHaus on Frazier for a little German-American flare. Then, make your way to Edley’s Bar-B-Que for a more traditional, southern brew (and just a liiiitle pre-supper samplin’ of their soon-to-be-famous BBQ). Cap it all off with a visit to full-service brewery, Heaven and Ale on Cherokee Blvd. for an eclectic mix of locally brewed favorites (like Chatty Light!).

When you’re all tapped out (get it, tapped out?), head over to Big Chill and Grill for some great food and fun! Their Southern cuisine paired with a lively atmosphere will make you feel just like you’re in the Big Easy. We recommend their Country Fried Steak, but you really can’t go wrong! Check out the online menu on their website. While you’re over this way, slide over to see us The Pottery Place and paint your own set of beer steins to remember the day by!

Drinks, grub, and creativity - what’s not to love?

3 - Pamper Dad with Self-Care!

Don’t roll your eyes just yet – Dad wants to be pampered too! Make him an appointment at Dirty City Barbershop where their highly skilled barbers have mastered the straight-razor shave AND you can get a complimentary beer with any cut service. Kind of the BEST, right?

Once Dad’s got a fresh cut and shave – send him over to Ama Spa for a River Rock Massage. Their hot rocks paired with a full-body massage will have him relaxed and stress free in no time! (Pssst - No time to book an appointment? Grab a gift certificate and let Dad plan his own “me-day”!) Once he’s as loose as Jell-O, it’s time for a fresh cup of joe & some freshly baked goodies at Stone Cup Café… and we’ll just say that the view isn’t bad either!

4 - Fun with the Whole Family!

What is Father’s Day without the littles who made him a Dad? Put together a family outing to visit the Chattanooga Zoo. Here, you can get lost in wonder as you explore the habitats of various birds, reptiles, mammals and more! The kids will love oohing and ahhing over their favorite animals while learning all kinds of fun facts! When you’re all done zoo-ing it up, snag some grub from our friends over at Good Dog and head to Coolidge Park for a family picnic! While you’re there, take a ride on the historic Dentzel Carousel for just $1!  Don’t forget to take lots of pictures of your family fun day out!

Of course, if you’re looking to make some sweet hand print art or maybe a special grilling plate for Dad, we know a place ;)

Ok, y’all have fun and we’ll see ya soon!
